We are a small cardiovascular department and responsible for both vascular and echo procedures. Do we need to purchase two separate programs, one for echo and one for vascular?

You have two options.

The first is to buy a combined echo/vascular version of DATACHECK. This would work best if all your studies are performed in the same area and you have access to only one computer.

The second option is to buy separate copies of DATACHECK, one for echo and one for vascular. This would work out better if you have separate computers and separate work areas for echo and vascular.

The good news is that the price of DATACHECK is the same regardless of which option works best for your lab. Your first copy of DATACHECK (either echo or vascular) would be at full price. The cost of your second copy of DATACHECK (either echo or vascular) would be discounted 40%.

How much training will I require to use DATACHECK? Does someone from DataStar come to our lab and train us?

DATACHECK is an extremely easy system to learn and use. New customers generally contact our customer service department for installation help if required and then spend a few minutes entering a few sample patients. That's all it takes to get started. The DATACHECK User's Guide is supplied to provide in depth instruction on using DATACHECK's many useful features.

How do I keep my program current with changing accreditation requirements?

Approximately three times per year DataStar will release a new version of DATACHECK. Each new version includes updates in the program due to changing requirements. These new versions also include many new features and enhancements that make DatachecK™ a more productive and useful system in your lab.

These new versions are free during your first 90 days as a DATACHECK customer. Following the 90 day period the majority of our users purchase PROTECH. PROTECH customer enjoy year round service and free upgrades for DATACHECK.

We have a large vascular lab with several work stations for the sonographers. Can DATACHECK run on a network and be available at each workstation?

Yes. DATACHECK can be networked with any number of computers. Network packages are available for 2-5 computers, 6-10 computers, and 11 plus computers.

Our hospital requires that all software programs interface with HL7. Does DATACHECK have an HL7 interface?

Yes. DataStar will provide DATACHECK with an HL7 interface. There is an additional cost involved dependent on the complexity of the installation and the time involved.

Our lab has a Parks Flo-Lab. Can we export patient data directly to DATACHECK eliminating double entry?

Yes. Required accreditation patient data can be exported to DATACHECK.
